Creating positive workplace experiences, great employee experiences and coaching individual growth and development has been a passion of mine since 2006 - when at the age of 21 I set up my own coffee shop.
Building a business at that age wasn't a first choice but a necessary one! The 3 long years setting up and establishing the business, and then managing it through a recession were tough but it was here that I learnt first hand the importance of nurturing and investing in the people you employ.
Being a small independent coffee shop in a saturated market of local coffee businesses, I needed to make sure the experience people received set us apart. In order to build that experience I needed my team on side, to understand the bigger picture - we weren't selling coffee we were literally saving my bacon!
Understanding my team and their motivations helped create that recipe for success. And when I didn't get it right I paid the price - literally out of own pocket. I've learnt over the years there is no failure only feedback, you need to try and fail but learn fast. Helping my team understand the journey we were on, and the vital part they played in achieving that vision required vulnerability, trust and understanding. These were my biggest learnings in leadership, communication and how priceless a good employee experience really is.
This lived experience is where my passion for creating great places to work comes from. Now my focus is bringing that learning, understanding and insight - along with 15 years experience in communication - to help you, and your organisation and people thrive.

We asked Becky to help us review and audit our internal comms, with a goal to improving communications and engagement with employees. The work Becky did was over and above what we expected and has provided us with a comprehensive and accurate report that has enabled us to start making genuine and realistic improvements to our IC.
